Mares'
Abyss 22 Regulator
What is it? A new design of Mares' popular
Abyss regulator. Its "all-metal technology"
prevents freezing and alleviates dry mouth
by collecting condensation on the metal
walls and moisturizing each breath. The
metal provides greater resistance and better
durability. The Abyss is heliox- and trimix-rated
to 100 feet (30 m).
Benefits to your diving: The track record of
Abyss regulators are promoted through the
following accomplishments: A solo deep dive
to 1,033 feet (313 m), 101 divers breathing
simultaneously from a single MR22 first
stage, and 25 divers 40 feet (12 m) below
the surface breathing from a single MR22
first stage for 10 minutes. For more
information or to reach the nearest Mares
dealer, call (800) 874-3236.

Poseidon
Diving's Flexisuit
What is it? A dry suit with the flexibility,
weight and maneuverability of a wet suit,
its manufacturer says. The Flexisuit is
built using a specially developed neoprene
that combines strength, stretch and
temperature insulation with comfort. On the
back, forearms and over the knees the
material is reinforced with Kevlar to
withstand wear and tear. The suit has a
front zip to enable the diver to open and
close without assistance. The Flexisuit is
equipped with Kevlar-reinforced socks with a
thin and strong sole. It is available in
sizes from XS to XXXL and can be adjusted to
nearly all body forms or sizes by special
order.
Benefits to your diving: Divers treasure
mobility, and a dry suit that provides
warmth for cold-water environments while
retaining the flexibility of a warm-water
wet suit is an intriguing proposition
indeed. For more information about the
Flexisuit, or to contact the nearest
Poseidon dealer, call (727) 944-5675.

Suunto's D4 Dive Computer
What is it? A full-decompression wristop
dive computer designed to "put
information, ease of use, and style
first." It comes in four operating
modes: time, freedive, air and nitrox.
In both air and nitrox mode, the screen
displays your current and maximum depth;
current time, dive time and
decompression time; and temperature.
Audible and visual depth and time alarms
warn you when it's time to start your
ascent. Like other Suunto dive
computers, Suunto D4 uses the Suunto
RGBM algorithm for decompression
calculations. It also allows you to
choose between taking traditional safety
stops or, with the Deep Stops feature
activated, taking your safety stops at
depth.
Benefits to your diving: The Suunto D4
sports four operating modes, plus dive
planning and analysis functions, and
compatibility with optional Suunto Dive
Manager PC software make the Suunto D4
worth considering. For more information
or to contact the nearest Suunto dealer,
