Brothers James and Brent Easley recently
opened their new dive site in northwest
Georgia
after convincing the owner of the property to sell. The quarry filled with
water sometime in the early 1980s and still holds a crane, which is about 40
feet (12 m) below the surface. The Easleys held a grand opening celebration
in June, and already four platforms are in place at depths ranging from 15
to 30 feet (4.5 to 9 m). Four docks also are available. The site is open
weekends only but is available during the week by appointment. Gear rental
is available. Brent Easley said he and his brother plan to add a few more
platforms, concessions, campsites, rental cabins and a heated pool. They
also hope to sink an airplane. Nitrox should be available soon, Brent Easley
said.
