Hathaway's Pond, Massachusetts

Part of the Cape Cod watershed, the 20-acre (8-hectare)
Hathaway's Pond in Barnstable, Massachusetts, is considered
one of the best training sites in New England. Visitors can
park near the water's edge and depths are suitable for
recreational divers. Underwater, divers will find a 1985
Saab, a 38-foot cabin cruiser and a dive platform.
Depths to: 57 feet (17 m)
Visibility: 5-25 feet (1.5-7.5 m)
Water temperature: Up to 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees
Celsius) at the surface during the summer.
Aquatic life: Include yellow perch, trout, smallmouth bass,
pumpkinseed sunfish and banded killifish.
Fees: $7 daily parking fee. Annual passes are available.

Open: Year-round.
Getting there: Hathaway's Pond is about 1.5 miles
southeast of the Route 6/Route 132 interchange, and east of
Wequaquet Lake. From Route 6, take Exit 6 onto Route 132
south. At the Phinneys Lane stoplight, take a left and
proceed 0.4 miles. The access road to the town beach is on
the left.
