Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, Ohio

Many shelves, rock formations, large fresh-water fish and plant life, and cabin cruisers await divers in this quarry first mined in the 1940s and filled with water when miners hit a spring sometime in the 1950s. There are also a couple of bottom trenches that run 60-70 feet (18-21 m) deep. The largest is called "The Abyss."

Besides being a destination for nature activities below and above the water, the park is host to several outdoor music concerts. This year’s lineup includes the annual celebration of the Grateful Dead, called "Grateful Fest," plus a "Celebration of Pink Floyd." This year events are planned from April to September.
