Wood's Cove, California

One of the most popular beaches in Laguna Beach, California, Wood's Cove doubles as a dive site. It's fairly small in size, compared with some of the other coves lining the coast, and divers need to be careful entering the beach during high tide, but Wood's Cove offers two choices: a steeper drop-off with rocks and shells on the west side of the cove, and on the east side is an area more suitable for less experienced divers. Large rocks separate the two sides. Snorkeling is popular in this area. Divers will find abundant fish, shallow reefs and kelp growth.

Wood's Cove is in a residential area. The beach is accessed from a stairway at the street level down to a secluded cove. Watch the last step. It can be steep if sand has washed away.
